If travel has a superpower, planning is ours.
We love the process almost as much as the journey itself. Researching routes, building itineraries, budgeting realistically (most of the time), and setting ourselves up to explore with confidence. A good plan gives us freedom. It creates a strong foundation so that once we set off, we can actually be present.
Then there is the other half of our philosophy: we don’t cling to the plan.
One idea that resonates deeply with us comes from The Four-Fold Way by Angeles Arrien. The notion that we maintain our power and sense of self by showing up, paying attention, speaking our truth, and letting go of attachment to outcomes. That last part matters, especially in travel.
Our approach is simple. Find a place that calls to you. Plan the trip thoughtfully. Go. And then stay open to the moments that weren’t on the itinerary. The detours, the delays, the weather, the unexpected conversations, the quiet discoveries that can’t be scheduled.
This page will eventually hold sample itineraries, planning tips, budgeting frameworks, and lessons learned along the way. For now, consider it an open map, a place where preparation meets curiosity, and plans exist not to control the journey, but to support it.
Come back soon. We’re always planning the next adventure.
